Creek of Mr. Ramon

Creek of Mr. Ramon
The Cala del Senyor Ramon is another of the wonderful beaches, probably the widest, which mark the GI-682 between Tossa de Mar and Sant Feliu de Guíxols. Unknown to many, with easy but long access, the Senyor Ramon cove has an impressive underwater bottom and turquoise waters. Although it has many of the characteristics that define a cove: difficult access, surrounded by cliffs, etc. the cove of Senyor Ramon is actually a wide sandy area of about 800 meters. It is located at kilometer 35 of the GI-682, just after the Vallpresona cove (traveling from Tossa to Sant Feliu), in the municipality of Santa Cristina d'Aro. Given its privileged and special geographical situation, Cala del Senyor Ramon allows the practice of nudism. Since the beginning of the descent you can already see from the height the beauty of this creek. As of today we do not know the origin of the place name Senyor Ramon (by the way, it is also known as the Corcollada), perhaps it comes from a former owner of the land. The type of sand is fine gravel, which offers a sensation of massaging the feet when we walk on it. The cove is about 350 meters long and about 50 meters wide and is usually little frequented throughout the year, even in summer, due to the conditions mentioned above. The aspect of the cove is abrupt and wild, in fact it is the largest sandy area of the coast between Sant Feliu and Tossa de Mar. The seabed is sandy and is excellent for diving. The slope towards the interior of the sea is quite pronounced.
