Meaning of the color of Taekwondo belts
These seven original colors were not chosen arbitrarily, but each one has a symbolic and traditional meaning. Which one do you like the most?.
TOP 7: blue
"It symbolizes the sky", towards which the plant as it grows and matures, is directed. In the same way, the student begins to mature, therefore he knows that his goal is knowledge and he goes there.
TOP 6: Orange
"It symbolizes growth." In this phase, the student has acquired experience, which has led him to master basic techniques, maturing and strengthening at the same time.
TOP 5: White
"It symbolizes innocence," meaning the lack of knowledge and skills of the practitioner who has just started the discipline. Constancy and perseverance will make innocence give rise to experience and mastery over time.
TOP 4: Green
"It symbolizes the plant," which grows and roots firmly. In the same way the TKD ignites in the conscience of the student throwing in its interior true roots that strengthen it.
TOP 3: Red
"It symbolizes the danger", at this level, the student achieved mastery of techniques, which if used, would cause serious damage to his adversary. That is why the student must exercise self-control and an adversary with common sense, must think twice his attitude, a) cause or b) move away.
TOP 2: Yellow
"It symbolizes the earth", where the seed is sown waiting for the plant that will grow. In the same way, the fundamentals of TKD are the seed that begins to germinate the student.
TOP 1: Black
"It symbolizes the opposite of the target," that is, it represents maturity and knowledge. It also indicates the unpredictability of the darkness that is presented to the practitioner when he realizes that his learning has not culminated, but on the contrary, it has just begun, through the Danes he will try to approach perfection.
