Salmon
Salmon
Los Salmones is mainly a rock band, influenced by various subgenres derived from rock and roll, blues and country. However, in the last productions there was a serious approach to folklore in the tropical regions of Bolivia, gaining a space within the circuit and embracing the renewal and fusion of the folkloric musical heritage, where they are better known as the “Children of Buri” . The band was born in 2008 and was changing members until the following conformation of six fixed musicians was established: Miguel Cabruja in Voice and Harmonica; Glenn Vargas Jr on Guitar and Banjo; Jorge Barrenechea on Guitar, Oscar Laprovitola on Bass; Jorge Jordán in Drums and Jherson Silva in percussions. In 2012, after having generated a circuit of bars and full festivals, they released their first album, causing a great impact at the level of critics and the public. That is how that year is called by a good part of the local press as: THE YEAR OF ROCK CRUCEÑO, the band goes beyond the limits of the rock movement to flag itself as a cultural, fashion and identity movement; all this caused by the media coverage, the success of the annual cycle REVOLUTION BURI and the presentation of the first album of the band called HIJOS DEL BURI, released to the public in the municipal stadium of the "Barrio Vieja Machine" before 2,000 people, with the support from other bands, from important institutions and companies. Then, the first video clip came up as reinforcements, worked on the promotional cut "I went from the line" filmed by CABRUJA FILMS with the latest digital cinema equipment. Immediately, sponsors fell, hundreds of comments, notes, followers from all sides and the band continued to produce: a new video clip (Rocanrol del Yesca) is released that opens in January 2013, with the director of Dream Machine a Bolivian producer, finalist of YourFilmFestival of Venice. 2013 continues its tour throughout the country and in the border towns of Brazil, as within the towns of the department of Santa Cruz; They participate in tributes to local composers such as Nicolás Menacho, Godofredo Nuñez and participate in the International Blues Festival, called Festiblues, opening for the legendary VOX DEI. At the end of 2013, they are invited to participate as a promotional band for Andrés Calamaro's concert, being responsible for the after concert where musicians of the artist participated. For 2014, they are invited to participate in the Verbena Fest, being part of the grid next to CALLE 13 of Puerto Rico. They continue their continuous visits to the city of Cochabamba and La Paz, to which is added the first experience in the city of Trinidad. INSOLUBLE and JUMECHI launch two songs in the same period, paying tribute to two fine musicians: the Argentinian blouse Pappo and the folklorist from Cordoba Godofredo Núñez. They participate again in the FESTIBLUES where they have the opportunity to open for Alejandro Medina (Manal), Botafogo and Luis Robinson, at the end of 2014 they appeared at the CASARIO ROCK held in Corumbá, MattoGrosso do Sul (Brazil). They participated in the Intimate Tympanum acoustic show organized by the Simón Patiño Center, from where a live plaque with the Country version of the "Rocanrol del Yesca" came out. Finally they release their third video clip with the single La Isla del Duende.

The Tocayos

The Tocayos
The group began in 1997 when the first 2 members of the band, Bilo and El Juan, got together to form a band, they humbly and naively started with a trout keyboard and acoustic guitar, and neither of them knew ... nothing at all ... of their instruments (they played macanas). Who would say that in one of many attempts at school music festivals, the ridiculousness taken to the extreme came out and the group took its first and most remembered name .. Soap bubbles ... The band began to bear fruit when they arrived to receive more than 10 applause from the public, which made them very proud. Among other names that the band had, we remember the following: Group composition eighth ..B .. (mmhhhmmm) Pendulum (what a shame) Three years after a good time, they decided to take things as they should and look for a new member, the found was a simple and humble boy - already, out of jokes! - a good acquisition (mmmmhhhmmmm) this was the famous Carlos Jherson Burgoa Juarez who then played the keyboard, it was there when Juan did not know what the hell to play, until which was done to the drummer on a good February day, after having tried three other giles. The TOCAYoS began to become known, more and more of their uncles and relatives knew that they had a band (that is, nobody knew them), the band was having several members that gave it some momentum, but many had to leave and others they left. These three changos did not know what to do, Bilo did not know how to sing and sometimes he went to the one who sang, Jherson played just, but he went to 1 of 3 rehearsals, Juan was just learning to grab the drumsticks. Time passed and Bilo still did not sing well, but he was encouraged, Jherson still played just fine, but he was already going to rehearsals, Juan did not know how to play well, but he already knew how to grab the drumsticks, they finally evolved. One day, the very lebudos came up with a festival called ... The 1st Sausage Festival ..., and they could play and from there the band became safer, and they were LoS ToCAYoS. Six months later, after having placed an ad in the conservatory that said: ... we look for a guy who plays the violin like Tacvba ..., I call a guy who said he knew, he went to prove it, and obviously, he knew. This ch'ete was called Gustavo Orihuela, better known as Gustavo Orihuela, whose sheet is Gustavo Orihuela was a very good acquisition of the band. Subsequently the band participated in a contest, where many bands remained in a good position. In December 2002 the production of the band's debut album begins ... Outside of jokes .., produced by Gigio Diaz and LoS ToCAYoS in the studio ..Capella Records .. by Martín Joffre who was co-producer of the album, this album It went on sale in July 2003. After having released the album .. Out of jokes .. The TOCAYoS had very good moments throughout this new story. With topics like: ..The Cain gene .., ..D Here .., ..NTRPONLVPVAA .., ..The Cain clone .., .. You are my life .. and .. Ties .. among others , LoS ToCAYoS got to know each other in the Bolivian musical medium, telling them that they came to play with artists such as Molotov, Aterciopelados and Gustavo Cerati, and in very important stages. After a success of 2003, the band suffered a crisis, moreover, they were on the verge of separation, so it was decided to stop playing together for a while (first half of 2004). After this time, the band rejoined to work on new songs and new concerts, but not with the same success they had last year, ... Until ... the second edition of the festival of sausage, which was held in April of 2005, with a total full of a well-known bowling alley and with a new face of the band. Since then, the band has been working on what would be the second album under study by LoS ToCAYoS: ..Cueztion de eztiloz .., work that lasted until the beginning of 2006 and that had the joint production of LoS ToCAYoS and Martín Joffre . In addition to co-producing the album, Martín was the recording, mixing and mastering engineer. The album ..Cueztion de eztiloz .. contains songs such as: ... Without measure .., .. I will not convince you .. or ..Group 2 .., which mark the return of LoS ToCAYoS to the music scene, with a good I work in the hands and a firmer band on stage, which is why 2006 was a good year for LoS ToCAYoS. In that year LoS ToCAYoS had important presentations both in La Paz, and in the interior (Sucre, Oruro, Cochabamba), among the most refreshing we have the Urban Fest in September, which was in the open-air theater, with Enanitos Verdes and Rata White. In 2007 LoS ToCAYoS were presented at the Anti-Regueton Festival presentation made the open-air theater, and the 3rd Festival of sausage. This same year they are adopted as godchildren by the band m

Shortcut

Shortcut
In October 1996 we met a group of people linked to the musical world with the intention of exchanging our experiences, our interests and ideals. From this collective initiative, ATAJO was born, a band that had since its origins the purpose and above all the desire to, through their own compositions, reflect social reality. It is for this reason that we decided to communicate in our language, to reach people's hearts, touch their soul and awaken their mind. We performed for the first time to the public in March of the following year with an acoustic concert by: Toto Aramayo on bass and percussion, Milton Maldonado on vocals and acoustic guitar, Claudia Carnielli on violin and chorus, Sergio Vargas drums, percussion and chorus , Ester Veldhuis voice and choirs, Panchi Maldonado voice, harmonica, percussion and acoustic guitar. The group maintains this structure for half a year, playing in the city of La Paz. As in every band the changes always come and go, ATAJO begins to make its own too: Claudia Carnielli returns to Switzerland and Milton Maldonado decides to leave the band. That's when Germán Romero enters with the electric guitar. From this moment we started the electro-acoustic stage of the band and started giving concerts in other cities in Bolivia. In our concerts we find a resistant public to receive our music loaded with social content. We assume that this initial resistance could be explained by the difficulty that people have to face those aspects of our social reality and still much more in a supposedly fun-evasion space. They have always wanted to classify the band with a specific style of music, but ATAJO is not a style of music, it is simply a way of making music that is based on rock as a form of expression and what we call urban rock. CHARACTERS PACEÑOS Personajes Paceños was the first shortcut album recorded at MCB - Discolandia in November 1998, this disc is the clear proof of what we wanted to do in all this working time; real stories, customs, problems, proposals, dreams, characters, complaints, turned into 12 songs, are a real manifesto of the first ATTACK that we decided to go together. Songs such as “De Satélite a la Pérez” or “That the DEA does not see me” are songs that people now sing and that have come to be known practically throughout the country, occupying the first places in the radial rankings Paceños Characters is the first urban rock album that came out in Bolivia and that was elaborated with a very peculiar language to which the press described it as urban poetry and at the same time affirmed that local rock was born with Paceños Characters. CALLES BALDIAS Calles Baldías is the first double compact disc recorded in Bolivia by MCB - Discolandia in November 2000. This album reconfirms its urban rock line with 20 songs and makes this work a similarity to a two-chapter book, joining songs with inserts of street sounds and popular songs of the city. This album tells very personal stories in a very honest and direct way, you can also feel the complaint that characterizes ATAJO; satirical, direct and above all always playing the theme of marginal life. The album CALLES BALDÍAS tells the story of a character who gets off a mini bus (public transport in La Paz) and mixes between the noises of cars and spokesmen ( final insert of the song De Satélite a la Pérez from the album Personajes Paceños). The steps of this character are blurred to open a very old and noisy door of his own house. Being already in his space he enters a madness wondering and shouting very loudly "He loves me or does not love me, little, much or nothing", while destroying bottles, windows and furniture of his house. At the end of this violent moment of rage, the person He approaches the television already on and begins to look for something that interests him, changing several times of the channel until he remains with the movie "Life is Beautiful" by Roberto Benigni. This is how he goes into endless memories and experiences that gradually lose the real space of the character with what he is listening and seeing on the screen. Then at the end with a popular song that is sung to the souls of boys and girls at the Todos Santos festival, it is where he comes to have an encounter with death and he keeps listening to these prayers or answers in Latin and Aymará suddenly the TV turns off and this is how this album ends. go up.: NEVER MORE This new album, begins with the song "Now I want to enter (There inside)" song that is characterized by playing with musical nuances. Strident moments with electric guitars interrupt the story of this song. Then continue to rely on the central choir that will be the fundamental basis for it to become a

Lou kass

Lou kass
In 1990 Grillo Villegas together with Christian Krauss formed the mythical band Lou Kass, with Krauss on vocals, Villegas on guitar, Martín Joffré on bass and Rodolfo Ortiz on drums. The formation of the Fox band in the mid-80s marks the musical beginning of the brothers Martín (Bajo) and José Joffré (Guitar) along with Rodrigo "Grillo" Villegas on the guitar and Rodolfo Ortiz on drums; interpreting versions of songs by Metallica and other bands had a moderate receptivity from the public. After the dissolution of Fox, the band members independently belonged to some La Paz bands such as Chuy & Fly and Drago Drogan among others, while Rodrigo Villegas became one of the animators of the improvised sessions of the pub "El Socavón" where He was able to meet his former teammates and meet vocalist Christian Krauss, with whom they decided to try their luck by forming a new band. In one of the rehearsals they were observed by the owner of "El Socavón" who baptized them in the first instance as Lucas's band, a name that was later changed shortened by LOU Kass which is understood as the nickname of a bar drink. Loukass achieves success in the La Paz music scene by debuting in the pub with a consolidated audience. They are later attributed the first place in a music festival, which gives them the possibility to record their first album. They release their first album "Lou Kass" (1992) the success came to them in a way that the four musicians who had never imagined, their songs were requested in the FM's and frequently placed in discos and bars. The members, as rarely seen in the musical rock scene, began to be treated as stars. Behind the scenes it was known that the compositions were in the account of the Villegas-Joffré-Ortiz trio and that Krauss spent his time watching the Simpsons and drinking beer. It would be followed by the album "Akasa" (1994), which includes songs such as "Don't pray to the sun" and "Feel High." In this album you can clearly see the influence of Luis Alberto Spinetta a sample is the similarity between the songs "Summary Paceño" by Loukass and "Summary Porteño" by Spinetta Jade. In full success of the band, vocalist Christian Krauss decides abruptly to travel to Germany without giving further explanations, forcing the rest of the group to continue with the presentations as a trio but without diminishing the receptivity of the band. Finally during the concert in La Paz of the tour "Tour AIDS" Loukass records his live album entitled Akassa Live !. Lou Kass managed to unite a very heterogeneous audience with a style that mixed rock, reggae, funk and simple lyrics with which the audience was fully identified. The themes of his albums, in which Villegas has a very important contribution, reached the highest rating positions and are still today a musical reference. After a scandal originated in the band during their national tour "AIDS Tour" and on top of success, the band separates closing an important stage in Bolivian rock. On August 5, 1999 and after the return of Christian Krauss from Germany, Loukass meets, on this date a concert is held in the city of La Paz, from which arises the double album "Akisitos" recorded live next to the public that He filled the Outdoor Theater. The month of July 2008, sees the four musicians reunited again for the "La Nave Returns" tour, in which they present more than ten concerts around the country, filling all their presentations as in the old days. They were also invited to play by the government of President Evo Morales, performing a concert at the Government Palace in the city of La Paz. A short time later, in October, Loukass returns to participate in the international rock festival organized by Paceña, FestiMusic 2008. Source: Marco Basualdo, 2003
